Privacy Policy

Last updated: [DATE]

[PLACEHOLDER — replace before publishing] This Privacy Policy is a draft starting point based on the actual features of the Zuno platform. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not legal advice. Before publishing, have it reviewed for compliance with the laws of the jurisdiction(s) where Zuno is incorporated and where its users are located (including GDPR if serving EU users, given Paddle's EU/UK buyer obligations).

1. Who we are

Zuno ("we", "us", "our") operates an online marketplace at [WEBSITE URL] ("the Platform") that allows users to browse, post, and manage classified listings.

Company: [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]
Registered address: [ADDRESS]
Contact: [SUPPORT EMAIL]

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account information: email address, display name, phone number (only required before posting your first listing), profile photo (if provided via Google/Apple sign-in or uploaded).
  • Listing content: title, description, price, category, city, images, and any other details you include in a listing.
  • Communications: messages you send to us or to other users through the Platform.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages viewed, searches performed, filters applied, and general interaction with the Platform.
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, collected as part of standard web server and hosting operations.
  • Cookies and local storage: used to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and (for signed-out visitors) temporarily store favorites and saved searches on your own device until you create an account.

Information from third parties

  • Sign-in providers: if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider, as permitted by your settings with them.
  • Payment processor: if you purchase credits, our payment processor Paddle.com (acting as Merchant of Record) processes your payment and shares transaction confirmation data with us. We do not receive or store your full card details — Paddle handles this directly. See Paddle's own privacy notice at paddle.com/privacy for how they process your payment data.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Publish and display your listings to other users
  • Process credit purchases and track your credit balance
  • Respond to support requests and investigate reports of prohibited content or behavior
  • Send you service-related notifications (e.g. account activity, moderation decisions)
  • Improve and maintain the Platform
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Who we share information with

  • Supabase — our database, authentication, and hosting infrastructure provider. Supabase processes data on our behalf under its own data processing terms.
  • Paddle.com — our payment processor and Merchant of Record for credit purchases.
  • Google / Apple — if you choose to sign in using their services.
  • Other users — your display name, profile photo, city, and listing content are visible to other users and, for published listings, to the public. Your phone number is only shown to other users if you choose to share it in a listing; your email address is never shown publicly.
  • Moderators/administrators — for the purpose of reviewing reports and enforcing our Terms of Use.
  • Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and listing data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL].

7. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies for authentication and language preference. Signed-out visitors' favorites and saved searches are stored locally in your browser (not on our servers) until you create an account, at which point they are transferred to your account and removed from local storage.

8. Children's privacy

The Platform is not directed at children under [16/18 — confirm applicable age in your jurisdiction], and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
